Elizabeth Daw, Physiotherapist

Graduate of the University of Toronto in Physical Therapy, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.

30 years of clinical experience in the hospital and community sector. Specialized interest in: orthopaedics, arthritis, gerontology, tissue repair, wound healing, infection control, low level LASER and research. Lecturer in arthritis, wound/soft tissue repair, low level LASER.

Elizabeth also enjoys canoeing, mountain biking and bird watching.


 



Kathy Wilton-Bennett, Occupational Therapist

Kathy is a graduate of the University of Toronto and has worked at Southlake Regional Health Centre in The Arthritis Program and is a certified Hand Therapist (USA) since 1992. She teaches splinting techniques of the Hand Therapy component to the Faculty of Rehabilitation students at the University of Toronto, and is a consultant in occupational therapy in out patient, clinical practice. She is an active volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society and is on the Executive of the Georgina Girls Hockey Association.


 

Heather McLean, Clinical Psychologist

Heather is now working at EDR Professional Health Care Clinic in Sutton as well as at the Dr. Heather McLean and Associates Psychology Centre in Markham, Ontario. She has many years of experience working with people dealing with stress, depression, life change, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), panic disorder, health anxiety, generalized anxiety, trauma and loss, etc. She enjoys working with both men and women, age 16 and above.

Debra Banfield, Registered Nurse

Debra has twelve years of experience in community nursing. Her special interests are in gerontology, wound care and women’s initiatives in health care.She enjoys cooking, gardening, canoeing and is a guide for ecotourism.


 

Peggy Banting-Kell, Registered Nurse

Peggy has over 30 years experience as an RN both in the hospital and community settings. Her clinical experience has been in medical/surgical at York Region hospitals, also seven years in community care specializing in oxygen therapy, asthmatic and sleep apnea management also apnea monitors for babies at high risk.

For the past twelve years she has operated her own Nursing Footcare practice in the community and clinic settings.

Peggy enjoys residing at the lake, Carribean vacations and her new puppy.


 

Gillian Reid, Nutrition Specialist

Gillian is a graduate of Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. She has over six years of experience in child welfare working with children and families. She is a Certified Personal Trainer specializing in pre / postnatal training and CrossFit. Gillian has completed her studies at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and is now a Registered Holistic Nutritionist.

Gillian believes in a ‘whole’ approach to wellness that incorporates all of the pillars of health including diet, exercise, stress and lifestyle that when combined help people reach their goals.
 

Margaret Gaukel SW, Beyond Barrier Free Consulting

As a person living with a disability for twenty years I have personal experience in dealing with the barriers to accessible living.

I am a graduate of The University of Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier with a degree in Social Work and have specialized training in disability awareness.

Currently I am a consultant with business, government and building contractors making recommendations for barrier free living.

 
Amira Kanianthra, Physiotherapist

Amira has completed her Masters Degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Austrailia. Her interests in the realm of physiotherapy are the areas of musculoskeletal, neurology, functional mobilization, therapeutic exercise and the prevention of bone and soft-tissue disease or injuries.

Amira has years of experience practicing in musculoskeletal-spinal management clinics, including aquatic and specialized exercises therapies. Her hobbies include running, pilates, community initiatives and continued education. .

 

Brenda Taylor, Physiotherapist Assistant/Admin

Brenda brings over ten years of medial office administrative experience to this practice. She also for fifteen years, practiced as a family law clerk in York Region. Brenda joins our team as a recent graduate with top honors, in the Physiotherapy Assistant program. Her expertise and history of volunteering with our local community brings boundless energy and enthusiasm to our rehabilitation team.

Brenda continues her volunteer work within our local community and enjoys gardening and travel.

 

Pegah Lawrence, Admin

Pegah is our administrator with seven years experience in office management, and a diploma in Business Administration.

Her passions include wilderness hiking &camping, music, and health care initiatives.
